SUGAR RUSH emerges from a personal reflection on addiction, to media, sugar, and adrenaline and the intoxicating surge that follows prolonged restraint. The work explores this heightened neurological state as both empowerment and vulnerability, where the body becomes a landscape shaped by invisible chemical forces. What feels like boundless energy also reveals the fragile mechanisms through which desire and perception are constructed.
Inspired by the breakbeat and drum & bass of BLKSMIITH, the work translates this physiological intensity into a visual language that oscillates between euphoria and excess, examining the thin boundary between liberation and dependency.
