Playing with Legos in the Flower Garden is dedicated to my grandmother, whose care for the flowers in the church reflected a quiet devotion to creating spaces of beauty and contemplation. Drawing from childhood memories of playing with Lego blocks in her flower-filled home, the work explores the domestic environment as a site of emotional security and intergenerational memory. Its ornamental patterns reference the visual language of the mid-20th-century Dutch Catholic domestic interior, embedding personal recollection within a broader cultural and historical context.
