If you see a pink animal in blue, tropical waters, they appear almost grey. Only when we returned to the lab and film studio, and lit this jellyfish properly, did we realise it was so delicately coloured. It is Drymonema, a relative of our lion's mane jellyfish, Cyanea. This individual, throughout the 48 hours that we kept it in one of our constant flow kreizel filming tanks, managed to attack and wholly dismember and engulf, no less than five common moon jellies, Aurelia, all in one 'sitting!' In this depiction, Drymonema has captured two moon jellies and begun to engulf them whole.
