Perhaps our favourite species of Jellyfish. The design, colour and elegance of Pelagia noctiluca, plus the fact that it is covered in bioluminescent organelles or tubercles, are enough to inspire anyone. On more than one occasion in Bermuda, especially once while filming for David Attenborough's 'Life on Earth', we were 'invaded' by what is best described as a pink population, made up wholly of these jellyfish and an equally pink population of Beroe comb jellies.
