One of so many Crustacean larval species, which along with Copepods form part of the huge wealth of Planktonic Crustacea upon which so many of our commercially exploited fish species depend for their sustenance. Telescopic eyes or eyes on the ends of stalks so often characterise these Shrimp species, many of which are hard or impossible to identify unless you happen to spend a lifetime working on this group. As with all Crustacean larvae the eyes are compound eyes not unlike those of Insects, but we still do not really know exactly what level of detail their owners can detect, almost certainly a mosaic image at best.
