Death is something that many of us do not want to discuss because it is the one thing we are unable to "fix". We do not get to decide the way our loved ones die and we do not get to transition with them into the unknown. The feeling of grief is a mix of loss of control and immense sadness that hits us heavily in the beginning and then comes in waves. When it comes to death and grief, we are nothing more than observers within a system much greater than ourselves for only time can heal as the waves of emotion come crashing into us. To grieve is another form of love and to experience this form of love is an honor. Even if at first it feels like nothing more than a curse. Sit with your feelings. Process your grief. Your feelings are valid, and those deep seeded emotions remind you that you are both alive and connected.
