Story:
The Forgotten Statue - A light painting piece created as part of the "Glow" collection. The statue - Hidden away deep in the woodlands in Yorkshire. This was one of many structures that I have came across during my weekly exploration around my local area. The statue stood about 20m high and are surrounded by trees and tall grass making it difficult to create light art at this location.
However, I was so in awe with this majestic looking statue that I was determined to go ahead with creating light art here. Hiking here during the night alone was straight forward but took a long time due to the distance. The challenges came when I arrived and began to see just how many tall trees and grass were around the statue making it very challenging to take-off the drone from the area and perform light art around the statue, especially everything was pitch dark. Nevertheless, I had to find ways to make it work. After I have found my framing with my mirrorless camera, I set my drone on top of my backpack and carefully launch the drone from the top of it, just so the propeller doesn't get caught on the tall grass. With a bit of luck, as well as trial and error, I managed to find the angle that I like. A few hours were spent there in the dark, alongside the hours spent on editing, this piece was finally born.
