Story:
The Lost Tower - A light painting piece created as part of the "Glow" collection. I first discovered this mysterious tower by chance when I was browsing through Google map nearby the local area, as I scroll through different parts of the map, I came across a shadow casted by a mysterious structure standing in the middle of nowhere on top of a hill by a huge reservoir. It prompted me to go and find out more about this mysterious tower. One day, I embarked on an hour and half journey and made the trip there to look for this mysterious tower.
The hike was rather tricky, there were no obvious footpath, my phone also had no service, so I couldn't rely on Google map to help me navigate. I ended up veering off the main footpath into some overgrown grass that will have eventually lead me to the mysterious tower. I knew the only way to get there was to keep climbing straight up to the top of the hill, so I kept climbing up, after some struggles with directions I got there eventually. I arrived at the the tower to see that there were nothing around it, it stood proudly by itself on top of an empty hill. After a while of staring the tower in awe, I decided I would be coming back here again in the dark to create light art in this desolated place.
A few weeks later, I made the trip back here to this location with all my camera equipment. Again, I endured the same problem when I tried to hike to the mysterious tower, veering off the main footpath into the overgrown grass and bushes. I was lost for almost an hour or so trying to rediscover the footpath that I was meant to be walking on. It was dark, hilly and difficult to see where I was going. After some struggles and with some luck, I eventually made it to the top of the hill where the mysterious tower was located. Two hours or so were spent by the mysterious tower, in the middle of nowhere, creating the art that I love creating. When I look back now and think about the struggles, the amount of time spent and the processes that went into just creating a piece of art from this place, all of that was worth it.
