Story:
Stone Circle of Yorkshire - A light painting piece created as part of my ongoing collection - "Glow". This stone circle was one of the lesser known place amongst the public, it is well hidden away and located by a nature reserve next to a reservoir in Yorkshire, only a handful of locals know about its existence. Having lived only 15 minutes away from this stone circle, I had no idea the existence of it either, however, I happened to stumbled across it when I was photographing wildlife nearby the the area. As I walked along the reservoir, I saw a bird that caught my eye, I wanted to photograph the bird, so I followed it and through a bunch of tall grass, and behind the tall grass was the stone circle hidden away and stood just nearby the reservoir that I have been to many times.
The history of this stone circle is unknown, there was no information about it anywhere nearby or on the internet. After I knew about the existence of this stone circle, I wanted to create light art there. I came back one night with all my camera gear, light painting equipment - drone with LED light and small light tube. It was a calm night with some gentle breeze, an ideal condition for creating light art. I was there alone for the whole night performing light painting. Creating light art alone at a quiet and eerie location like this didn't just gave me some goose bumps but also the feeling of tranquilness. It's a feeling that I always have when creating art in a place where it's secluded and hidden away.
