Story:
The Whistler - A light painting piece created as part of my ongoing collection - "Glow". This is a peculiar looking structure that generates whistling sounds when winds are blowing against it, located on top of a windy hill in the Pennine - about an hour and half drive away from where I live. This was my second attempts of creating light art at this location, it was too windy on my first outing here, hence why I could hear the those whistling sounds generated by the structure.
I waited for a night when it wasn't windy and a night when the sky was clear, then I took off on an one and half hour to get there by car. As usual, I went to the location carrying all my camera gear, light painting equipment - drone with LED light and a light tube. Once arrive at the location, the entire shoot was rather straight forward - since I have picked a night when it wasn't windy to create art. I wanted to show the scale of the peculiar looking structure, therefore after setting up the camera on timer mode, I ran over and stood next to the structure very still for 20 seconds each time the photos was taken. I had to repeat the the process many times until I am satisfied with what I have captured.
From all the photos captured that night, this piece was the one that I was most satisfied with. I am glad that I went back for the second attempt, the final results from my second outings were much closer to the results of how I have imagined it.
