Rite is part of "And So It Was", a collection of still images by Panaviscope exploring memory, time, and the spaces between moments. Highly stylized, the piece contrasts vibrant forms with areas of emptiness, where the texture of the paper remains visible. As with other works in the series, Rite presents a strong narrative potential through a single frame, marking Panaviscope’s evolving interest in still imagery after years of working primarily with video.
Technically, the piece was shaped through precise model control, before intentionally allowing room for the unpredictable qualities of latent space to emerge. Rather than erasing the idiosyncrasies of the medium, Rite embraces them as part of its expressive language.
