"rue de l’Abreuvoir" was taken in November 2021 in Paris, France. After almost two years of break from international travels as a result of the pandemic, in November of 2021, I took my first trip to France and Switzerland, which included 6 days in the city of Paris. This photograph was taken as I strolled along the streets of Montmarte. Even amongst the peak busy periods with tourists practically all around me, I was lucky to find, for a moment, an empty scene that highlighted the beautiful charm of the city amongst the vibrant colours of autumn. This composition is one I often look back upon as this idealistic and romanticised version of the Paris I was mentally and emotionally in, even if in reality I was actually in a crowded and lively city. Through this photograph, in my mind, I can escape back to my strolls along the streets of Paris on that cold autumn day.
