"Prisoner of Peace" is a play on what's happening right now. There's this performance of diplomacy, peace boards, Nobel ambitions, the whole thing, while actual people sit in cages. I wanted to try making a piece with that contradiction. The figure is the prisoner, trapped, arms wide open like a sacrifice dressed up as a saint. The loop runs on motion of a white dove in flight, and the prisoner shifts with it. The more it moves the more the figure comes through. We keep hearing the word peace while watching something else entirely unfold.
