Since we were not successful in publishing "A Neural Style Transfer of Artistic Style" in a top academic journal, we instead decided to submit the work to the more specialized Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR). For that we had to re-write the paper to better place it in the context of that venue and I chose the more technical and perhaps less poetic title "Image Style Transfer Using Convolutional Neural Networks" under which it was eventually presented at CVPR 2016. In the process of re-writing I also added some new images to illustrate certain technical details of the algorithm including the one shown below that was always one of my favorite results.
