This artwork commemorates the immense sacrifice of the Allied soldiers during D-Day, the pivotal invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. On this day, over 156,000 troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations landed on five beachheads—Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. The operation, codenamed Operation Overlord, marked the beginning of the end of World War II in Europe.
Remembering who sacrificed themselves for our dream is important. Let us not forget what they did and what it brought us.
Facing formidable German defenses, including fortified bunkers, heavy machine-gun fire, and land mines, the Allied forces demonstrated extraordinary bravery and resilience. Despite suffering around 10,000 casualties, with 4,414 confirmed dead, their sacrifice paved the way for the liberation of Western Europe
