The air's really heavy and humid, got this earthy smell, like after a rainstorm, but the sky above is a deep, uniform grey, like it's a solid sheet. The water's perfectly calm, no ripples at all, despite the fact that the entire lake is slowly rotating, like it's being stirred by some invisible spoon.
