Air thick with damp earth and mineral deposits hangs heavy, unmoving, as a perfectly preserved, gleaming, late-1990s-era Mountain Dew vending machine sits incongruously atop a naturally formed, crystalline pedestal, a single, pristine, sealed can still inside. Water from an unseen source trickles steadily into a glittering, gemstone-encrusted drain that appears to lead straight down into solid bedrock, and the air is eerily quiet, devoid of even a single echo.
