The rough winds create ocean sized waves that break on the usually calm, Lake Tahoe shore. These are the conditions I was hunting for so long.
The night prior I packed my camera gear and prepped for what was seeming to be a blizzard photo mission. I rapidly hopped in the car and began the journey from Chico CA to Lake Tahoe, I had no idea what was instore for me.
As I reached the Lake, I could tell that this was going to be a big storm. My main goal was to get the shot I was looking for quickly, as all the roads I needed to take to get home usually close in big storms like this one. The timer was ticking.
As I shot the storm came in, and heavy. My mission home was now on. Little did I know it would take me 12 hours in hellish conditions to get home. I wasn't sure if I had got the shot, but I had to leave as the roads were closing rapidly.
But ultimately, I ended up getting an image that would prove to be my best one yet. A mission some would call dumb, I would call well worth it.
