A diffusion algorithm forms a crystal lattice, which is then pushed through a set of three rendering processes: a Perlin noise based distortion of the main image; a set of sparkling, radial lines based on samples of the underlying intensity of the monochrome pixels; and a pointillist, dot-spatter layer.
