What's cookin'?

I learnt cooking being around my aunt and mom. There were no written recipes, I learnt as I watched. With that came this weird style .. I never measure spices..when I do ,the results are ..um..not worth mentioning.. I throw them in and gauge color and aroma..and well ..go with it - which makes me a baking disaster..most of the time..but works wonderfully with Indian dishes and frustrates the recipients of my recipes. I almost always hear " What do you mean throw in cumin?" ..so here it is ...a little bit of this, a little bit of that ..and what's cookin'?
