This series draws inspiration from classic Japanese printmaking, disaster dreams, science fiction, Pacific Northwest United States wildlife and the volcanos of the Cascade mountain range. Subtle illustrative narratives with many layers of pattern and visual texture are worked out in elaborate processes and experiments.
At its simplest, I wanted to draw our volcanos exploding around us; however, it turned into a collection of serene and quiet scenes in the midst of destruction and cataclysmic events. Surreal combinations of imagery grew into strange narratives that prequel my current graphic novel project work in progress. I'm curious if WTC NFTs can serve to crowd-fund my idea list for this collection and introduce more people to my style.
