Growing up to 300 feet high and known to live for 300 years, Eucalyptus diversicolor, commonly known as The Karri, is a eucalypt native to the wetter regions of southwestern Western Australia.
Known as a beautiful nature drive, Scotsdale Road is lined with the Karri, and makes for a sensual delight as you traverse this special part of Western Australia.
Waking to the heaviest fog I had seen in the valley for some time I eagerly jumped out of my warm bed, and with exuberant expectation, ventured up the road to a location I had specifically chosen for this shot, all the while watching the cool fog consume the view behind me as I went. With photo’s taken up the hill it was time to move down.
Moving down into the valley I came around a corner heading to another chosen location, and was immediately presented with this scene. The new days sunlight came through the trees, appearing to chase the cool fog from the scene, warming it as it did so, and I just had to stop and capture it.
