The rain gently tapped against the window, tracing lines of transparent tears across its surface. The cat-faced girl, half-draped, lounged on the couch, her gaze lost in the distance. The silence of the room was broken only by the soft breathing of the cat sitting by the window.
Not so long ago, this house was filled with laughter, with whispered love and late-night murmurs. The hand that once tenderly caressed her long hair was now nothing more than a memory. The eyes that once gave her peace had faded into the shadows of the past.
The cat, as if sensing the ache within her, turned and met her gaze. Their eyes locked— a simple look, yet heavy with unspoken words. She sighed, placed a hand over her heart, and closed her eyes. Perhaps the world had changed, perhaps loneliness had wrapped itself around her more than ever before, but one thing remained: her cat—the only companion who always waited by the window, always stayed by her side in silence, always a living memory, like a love that never truly ends.
