Back in the 1920s, a tourist village was established along the shore of Lago Epecuen, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The town thrived for several decades until a tragic day in 1985, the salty waters broke through an earthen dam and Villa EpecuΓ©n was doomed. 25 years later the city finally emerged, revealing that the high levels of salt left a white residue on every building, painting the whole village white and making it a true ghost town.
