Of all the illusions that are spun by the magic of money, perhaps none is as troublesome as the way that it distorts perception itself. Like some great cultural black hole, consciousness curves in around its inescapable gravitational pull.

This work is a meditation on the effort to unite states of consciousness, to overcome division and reconcile the paradoxes of power, freedom, material wealth, and spiritual presence.

United States... what a grand idea. We should try that.

As it was hand painted in acrylic on Masonite, perhaps it is ironic that the object is more real than the subject. It seems only fitting that it should wind up here as a one of a kind limited edition made of light.
