🎨 Twisted Perceptions – The Weight of Seeing
🖌️ CONCEPT / STORY
A human figure stands against absolute darkness, her body appearing less like flesh than a fragile shell assembled from fractured pieces.
Across her eyes, a dense crimson band stretches from temple to temple. It does not simply cover her sight—it appears fused to her, flowing downward in heavy streams as though blindness itself has become physical matter.
Beneath the cracked exterior, delicate fibrous structures remain exposed. They resemble nerves, connective tissue, roots, or an internal network struggling to hold the fragmented body together. The harder the surface breaks apart, the more this hidden structure becomes visible.
The work explores a paradox: sometimes seeing less reveals more. By removing vision, the figure is forced inward, toward the invisible structures that continue to hold identity together after its exterior begins to collapse.
The red band becomes both wound and barrier—a deliberate interruption between the individual and the world.

🛠️ TECHNICAL DETAILS
Artwork Type: Surreal Figurative Portrait / Conceptual Digital Artwork
Composition: A highly controlled frontal portrait built around near-perfect vertical symmetry. The red horizontal band violently interrupts the otherwise vertical structure of the figure.
Lighting: Low-key directional studio lighting emphasizes the pale fractured surfaces while allowing the internal cavities to disappear into the black background.
Textures: Cracked porcelain, dry mineral surfaces, exposed fibrous networks, glossy viscous material, fine hair, and polished lips.
Depth: The separation between the outer plates and dark internal cavities creates strong physical depth, making the body appear simultaneously constructed and disintegrating.
Visual Focus: The crimson blindfold immediately dominates the composition before the eye travels through the fractured face toward the intricate internal fibers and broken structures of the neck and torso.
