🎨 Twisted Perceptions – The Face That Never Formed
🖌️ CONCEPT / STORY
A human figure emerges from a cracked, mineral-like surface, yet the most defining part of identity is missing. Where a face should exist, there is only a smooth, sealed form—an anonymous surface without eyes, mouth, or expression.
One elongated hand reaches across this emptiness as if searching for features that were never created. The gesture feels simultaneously protective and desperate: an attempt to touch, conceal, or perhaps reconstruct an identity that cannot be seen.
Below the faceless head, thick organic loops twist downward like roots, ropes, veins, or unfinished extensions of the body. They suggest that although visible identity has disappeared, something deeper continues beneath the surface.
The monochromatic environment removes almost every distraction. Skin, stone, hand, and surrounding matter seem to belong to the same material world, blurring the boundary between the human body and the structure imprisoning it.
Rather than depicting the loss of a face, the work questions whether identity ever required one in the first place.
