Twisted Perceptions – Frozen Breath
This piece captures the precise moment when reality morphs into caricature: a woman blowing bubblegum, her breath crystallized into frost-covered skin; sharp, crown-like spikes of ice radiating from her head like a rebellious halo. The bubble she inflates is fragile, flawless, and mirror-like — yet the act itself feels anything but playful.
The image freezes that instant when thought becomes form: a breath turned to sculpture, an idea caught inside a bubble on the verge of bursting. Her dark sunglasses shield her gaze, isolating her from the world and trapping her inside an echo chamber of silent defiance.
Part of the Twisted Perceptions collection, this work questions how an ordinary impulse — to chew gum, to exhale — can become cosmic, absurd, almost monumental. Though she appears detached, the frost on her skin whispers of resistance and of the delicate armor we build to survive — a reminder that the bubbles we blow to protect ourselves can so easily shatter.
