“A real piece of art, is a window into the transcendent.”
'Endless' is the second of three images in my Transcendent series, a photography collection that aims to share a window into what it truly feels like to create.
These horizonless artworks are made using my own photographs, composited in Photoshop to create an endless dreamscape. They're simple, and relatively easy to create, but always leave me feeling an immense sense of calm, more so than any of my other artworks. They feel close to perfection, which for a scattered creative mind like my own, is a comfort I very infrequently experience. I chase this feeling, over and over in other styles, but never quite meet it. So every now and again, I let myself indulge in the joy of creating another horizonless artwork, following the motions that feel familiar, like a painter returning to his or her favourite set of brushes. Sometimes comfort, can be beautiful too.
