ToophACE

This Limited Edition image is Phase I of a series.

I shot ToophACE in 1989 on a 1952 Deardorff using 8x10 large format FUJI sheet film with a Schneider 240mm lens, and digitized it in 2019.

My subject is a small solid CLEAR GLASS hand-molded skull barely 5mm/2in across.

All the special effects are created in-camera using manual light-painting techniques. Photoshop was only used to remove dust and slightly enhance contrast.

Everyone who views this image see something different depending on their psychological base, some see the two faces, others do not. Some see more than the archetypal energy I injected into it, and others fail to resonate at all - to each his or her own.

What most fail to recognize is that the ORIGINAL image can be printed or displayed at billboard size and still remain as sharp as the bleeding edge of a razor.

The ORIGINAL 8x10 transparency is offered for sale to discriminating collectors at $22,000 USD.

This Limited Edition digital reproduction, a modern day poster, is considerably less.
