Timber

Timber is cut to build homes, pulped to make paper, and burned to keep homes warm. It is a renewable resource, but I still feel a pang of sadness when I see a clearcut field in what used to be a forest.

I came upon this giant pile of timber on a walk through a forest in northern Wisconsin on June 8, 2023. The pile was so massive I used my drone to capture this shot near the top of the hewn wood mountain.
