Whether we need motivation to start the day, a break during the turmoil or a place to wind down. We all need spaces within to be still, where we can breath in the moment and reflect on our growth. It may be challenging to simply escape where we are, therefore we need a dedicated space for practice carved out as a door way into the present moment. The doorway is an entrance through a narrow corridor that invites you to explore the weight of challenges you are holding inside. Baggage from the stressors of life, the corridor invites you to scan your body as you notice the toll on your physical body; a tightening of your muscles, pains from negative energy and internal fears you are facing. In this corridor there is no judgment only awareness as the limestone leads you to your meditation, this is your time. At the end of the corridor a room opens up, inviting you to slowly shrug off the weight you are holding and presents you with the opportunity to form an intention for your practice. This is significant, because as we let go our mind wanders, this cannot be stopped, the flow is natural however we can seek to observe and guide the flow of our thoughts. Reflect back on your body scan, the room asks you with two paths what does your body and mind need in this moment? To your left you there is a dark, cold and narrow entrance inviting you to ascend up into denial and fear. Up there is a room that gives you the opportunity to accept discomfort on your terms, from a strong perspective you can choose to contemplate about death, grief or the darkness you hold within. Up there is a room with only a bench where you can let it all out, like screaming off a mountain. To your left you can descend into the light. A space filled with natural ribbons cascading from oculus in the ceiling. The space has an alter under the light with natural vegetation, a stool to take in the beauty and spot for yoga. It’s a space of spiritual accession for we must descend to the depths to climb into our highest selves. You may even decide to remain in the entrance room and contemplate the balance of self inflicted constraint or freedom, the choice is yours.
