For me, abstraction here is not about form, colour or balance to an aesthetic view primarily. It is just a means or a backdrop to animated forms that carry an implied function. In my Field test works – form gives way to the utility of lines electrifying a scene to cause a meltdown of colour and the subject matter – a somewhat disastrous occurrence. In 'This is THAT day' is a continuation of the theme where THE event has actually happened. The beginning of AN end. My work looks at different aspects of creation, destruction, aftermath and can portrait different moments in time. Before, during and after an event. Other works in this series will look at the same event but at different times and places. I'm presenting instances in a story line. The demise of this world and the rise of the machine, AI and the program may be upon us but it is only as literal to you as it appears or seems. I question these concepts in my mind and they continue to come out of me organically. Most of my work is a flow of consciousness through a medium, digital or analogue works on canvas, rather than a defined construct. I'd like to provide limited editions so that these works and this story are accessible to collectors. There may be some 1/1 work but this may be more rare than common.
