I really wanted to separate my digital photo surrealistic styles. /burnedbyairfryer being more full page almost chaotic type of digital collages. And /thequietcanvas being more based on cleaner composites & scenes, with most of the manipulation being in color. When I started creating pieces & editing, everything I did through photoshop was "collage", simply because I was piecing together elements from multiple pictures, but /burnedbyairfryer was becoming complicated because I would mix abstract vibes, heavy filled collage, & create more minimal scenes like this that were less obvious with cut pieces. Not telling the two apart or how I wanted to assign themes was leaving me pretty conflicted this whole time, especially when I figured out more of how I wanted /burnedbyairfryer to be presented, & basically considering scratching any attempt at this cleaner composite style at all, which might have been my first love as far as discovering the abundant world of digital art on ig. With many months under my belt now with creating in this digital form, I figured it's time again for me to keep building, instead of constraining to the specific styles I am now more comfortable with. I knew I wanted to tackle more surreal landscapes & definitely felt the need to learn more minimal ideas, but I just wasn't able to do it all at the same time. I knew that in my way of learning or growing in all, I had to take my time on each, & not move on until I knew more change was needed, than overwhelming myself. Even right now I have a bit of a hard time balancing that as I am back and forth, creating for multiple ig accounts, not because I have to, but just because I really wanted that kind of organization. My brain sees so many possibilities & I just get too excited at times. So now here I am with a new collection, bringing a bit of what I already know, while learning new, & implementing to just different ideas as of late.
