The piece unfolds as a visual enigma that refuses to be explained. It does not seek to be understood, but to be experienced. Everything exists within a shared symbolic universe, where free association is not only welcome but essential. There are no mistakes here—this is all about being and interpreting.
Inspired by the cinema of Tarkovsky, Malick, and Fellini, the work sustains a constant tension between what is shown and what is concealed. “That’s not the truth. The truth is a secret, because only I know it,” declares the subtitle—borrowed from 8½—echoing across the surface of the imagery.
What lies within these mysterious, suspended frames? What are we being denied? And what is it that only we, silently, already know?
Collage was created using printed and glitched screenshots, burned and scanned pictures, and digital manipulation in Photoshop. This special piece was made for the Sublime Cinema seminar organised by NewtroArts and Gustavo Ariel Sanabria.
