The Somber Pillars

Massive in size and terrifying in appearance, the Somber Pillars are both denizens of the Tapestry and part of its landscape. No one has ever seen them move or react at all, though there is no doubt there is life in them, and no one has ever managed to bring one down, for they are rooted deeper than the greatest of trees and sturdier than the mightiest fortress. Silent, unmoving and eternal, they pose an enigma whose answer only a select few know.
