The Smiling Algorithm

I created this GIF to feel familiar at first, then slightly wrong the longer you look at it. The smile is intentionally too wide and too fixed, pushing it just past normal human expression. It suggests confidence and friendliness on the surface, but without warmth underneath.

The goal was to hint at something “machine-like” behind the face—calm, in control, and always watching. It’s not meant to look openly evil, just unsettling in a subtle way, like power that doesn’t need to announce itself.

Put simply: it’s a smile that says everything is fine, while quietly reminding you that it’s in charge.
