The Pirate Ship

"The Pirate Ship" was a pleasure to create... I first built and painted a miniature model ship, waterproofed it in enamel, and submerged the model inside a cloud tank. I then added practical lighting underwater and on the exterior of the tank. Using a syringe to add the 'clouds', I shot hundreds of digital photos as the dynamics of the clouds evolved. I picked a series of my favorite images and blended elements from each in Procreate, digitally enhancing and painting on top of the blended images until completion.
