THE OUTLIER is a completely handmade physical artwork built from cut and sculpted Styrofoam. Each individual form was shaped using a heated wire, creating a dense field of irregular geometric volumes and natural variations in texture.
The surface was then developed with black and white spray paint, allowing the forms, shadows, and tonal differences to emerge from the structure itself. At the center, a single element was deliberately painted red by hand with gouache, creating a sharp interruption within the otherwise monochromatic field.
The work explores individuality, contrast, and the presence of something singular within a seemingly uniform environment.
Created entirely by hand, from cutting and shaping the Styrofoam to painting and finishing.
