The Moon Aloof

As the hours pass the moon will slowly reveal itself becoming a bright light in the nights sky before eventually shrouding itself in darkness again!

A little about how I created this: Started with images taken from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and modeled them in After Effects from there I added points of light that gradually come towards the camera. After I was happy with the look here I edited it further on my phone using an app called Glitch Studio to bring out some of the blues and reds. This was also where I layered in some noise, dithering, and got the overall aesthetic down. For this piece I imported the finished video which was almost 2 minutes long back into AE and sped it up to be 24 secs long and exported a frame every 60 frames which ended out working out to a complete loop!
