‘In the deep dark woods of Nirvana, the mahout mends his broken elephant.’

‘The Mahout’ is an original artwork created as a visual representation of healing. The meditative piece is a reflection of the emotional destination one reaches once they achieve the state of ‘Nirvana’ or enlightenment.

Inspired by the Buddhist practice of healing through meditation and Yoga, the artwork juxtaposes one’s true self to a broken elephant and the person’s idea of God as the caring mahout, mending the elephant’s wounds.
