The Lioness unfurled herself before me in her handmade clothes with a Middle Eastern flair, like a whirling dervish. There was a blur of motion, then a cold hand stuck out and with a shake, we began our work. Our task was to face the brick wall placed before us, the Sun casting its long shadow across it each day of a long year, twisting and writhing like a serpent. She gave me the strength to climb over that wall, and together we made it to the other side. Job done, we dusted ourselves off, and with a nod of respect, we parted ways. We parted ways. Yet, the strength and courage she gave still sees me through each transition, giving me the resolve to face the next wall. Around it, over it, through it, or under it, I find my way to the other side. Knowing she is somewhere in the world gives me the courage to face the next wall, and the one after that.
