My four elements describe the sensations I experience through my life. I express them through colors. Blue is the color of hope, Green the color of life, Orange the color of joy and Red the color of passion. The ancient Greeks believed that there were four elements that everything was made up of: water, earth, wind and fire. I somehow feel that my four elements bear an analogy to the Greek four elements where the element of water (hope) is symbolized by the color blue, the element of earth (life) by the color green, the element of wind (joy) by the color orange and the element of fire (passion) with the color red. This piece is based on my four oil paintings (80x80 cm), called the four elements. Through the animation I'm trying to show the analogy between my four elements and the four elements of the Greek mythology by adding two more dimensions. One is the movement and the other one is the sound. The movement of the water is shaped like the waves. The element of the earth has a tree in the middle as the symbol of life and all the movements happen around that tree. For the element of wind, I chose a spiral movement like a tornado. The flames in the fire are shown by an upward movement. The sounds of the waves, the jungle, the wind and the fire crackling help the observer to feel the elements.
