There exists a creative force, a controller, a founder of the reality we believe to know. Layers are crafted and concealed, with every nanopixel in our world's mosaic giving rise to perpetual new worlds. The founder builds and dismantles.
Our world is in constant flux, as it has been since the beginning of time.
We have reached a pivotal point in our technological advancement, where we stand on the precipice of creating artificial life through Artificial Intelligence.
How will this impact our world? Could we already be inhabiting an artificial realm? And if so, will we go on to construct new artificial worlds within this existing one?
Layer by layer, we construct our new reality. The layer in which we experience life depends on the era we inhabit and the level of technology present during that time.
Time... Does time truly exist, or is it an artificially created metric designed to provide us with a sense of stability, a fixed point in the ebb and flow of life?
Does the layer we occupy influence time? And do our movements through time within a specific layer cause disruptions that affect time and establish new circumstances for preceding and subsequent layers?
Are we engendering glitches within our artificial reality? Will our multilayered artificial world eventually crumble and fail, becoming one among countless failed universes?
As always, I experiment with various techniques to achieve the desired end result that I aim to share. I employ all the techniques that come to mind, sometimes not in the way they were originally intended. If I lack a specific tool, I explore different approaches until I achieve a result that aligns with my vision.
For the "Glitches" series, I wanted to commence with A.I. as it lies at the very core of my thoughts and the envisioned concept.
I began by creating the images I desired as the foundation of the artwork. After numerous attempts to achieve the desired outcome, the actual creation process commenced. I manipulated and distorted the foundation until it conformed to my desired vision, while also incorporating music and effects to capture the intended motif and evoke the desired emotions.
Hours of intense editing followed, punctuated by moments of reflection, as new images arose, new angles were explored, and fresh ideas emerged. It involved a constant cycle of editing, altering, bending, adjusting, refining, discarding, and starting anew.
Finally, everything coalesced. My thoughts took tangible form, molded into something enduring.
...it transformed into a work of art.
“Glitches” Layers interact and intertwine, forming a cohesive whole. Which layer represents reality? Movement spawns glitches, disrupting the entire structure. Stirring it up leads to the creation of a new whole.
“Defrag” Layers are disordered, lost in their own realities. Adjustments and clarifications are made, elements are deleted and rebuilt, resettings occur, and the process starts anew. Defragmentation.
“1986” This piece reflects a personal journey, capturing a year of profound changes, global adjustments, and the emergence of a new reality. It symbolizes the tumultuous shifts within the layers that shape our perception of reality.
“The Calm” Amidst chaos, a layer remains serene, constantly in motion. It contrasts with the mind's ability to assimilate the fluctuations in its surroundings. A calm anticipation.
“The Home Computer” The birth of our present reality, the home computer provided us with the tools to construct our new world. It fuels our insatiable thirst for novel realms, serving as a conduit for our desires, cravings, and ambitions.
“The Founder” There exists a creative force, a controller, a founder of the reality we believe to know. Layers are crafted and concealed, with every nanopixel in our world's mosaic giving rise to perpetual new worlds. The founder builds and dismantles.
