Within this object of destruction there is a very interesting juxtaposition. The grenade ๐ฃ - a weapon of death ๐and destruction, is shaped like an egg ๐ฅ - a symbol of fertility, birth and life. The Forbidden tells the story of man's existence through allegory. The clamshell hand opens to reveal a pineapple ๐grenade --- the forbidden fruit ๐. Within this device, you see the cycle of life: a beautiful garden ๐ growing inside the weapon - from life comes death and from death comes life. The butterflies ๐ฆ are symbols of our ever-changing world. The colorful bird ๐ฆ perched on top reminds us of the fragility of life, but is also a symbol of freedom. Finally, in the background is a porthole framed by a garden. The garden is reminiscent of where all life might have started. Flowers themselves being some of the first things of beauty on this planet. The porthole is a window through time. It reminds us not only of our past, but the present and the future.
