The Fez

The Sultan sent out a decree mandating that a fez be worn As a symbol of affiliation with his Empire. Turbans were banned and eventually it became a fashionable symbol of modernity. The Sultan is dead.

You are Not Dead is a collection of 31 images of the dead with a short story. A drawing of a skull was done each day of October, after which the digital image was transferred to linoleum, carved, printed, and then returned and colored digitally. These skulls are a reminder of death, but more importantly, a reminder to live the best life that we can.
