We lost our way, sucked into a vacuum powered by our monumental ignorance, and we paid the price. War drove us to a point of such desperation we left Earth in search of a new home on Mars. Now we have returned, our hearts and minds open. The glowing eye of the Ethereal power source stares at me, speaking to me, telling me their knowledge, their wisdom surpasses ours a thousandfold. I can only hope they know we are now here to learn, and not to destroy.
