Upon a tangle of gnarled roots She twitches and plies Her arms are knotted, windswept switches As she moves, they jerk and sway
She used to be quite graceful When she twirled beneath the moon But time made her a broken thing Heartache set in far too soon
So now her roots have spoken They have decided it is time To put an end to all the sadness They've begun to make their climb
To creep and slither upwards They have made this task their goal They will climb up to her chest, her throat And swallow the dancer whole
