ZOOMING INTO THE CORRUPTED PDF IS RECOMMENDED.
The Corrupted PDF is a found object and digital oddity that's been derived from page 122 of a digital copy of child psychologist Donald Woods Winnicott's book Playing and Reality. Coincidentally and ironically, the text on this page praises the act of destruction as a form of creation and is cut off by digital visual noise that's been created by some form of data corruption.
Whatever type of destruction and noise is at play here is unique and detailed with varied oases and even a large section in the lower left corner where it seems to drip down like ink. When scaling into this noise we see that it's made up of simple bits: static pixel-like squares that are either black or white/on or off. The noise also appears to be fractal. Zooming into any point provides us with an example of repetition and certain visual motifs that function as clues to the nature of this corruption.
The data corruption on display appears to be generated by the PDF viewing application and therefore can vary for each viewer when presented in its original PDF form. In order to maintain a consistent viewing experience for all audiences, the Corrupted PDF has been preserved in an SVG format.
