Description
Who is the true mastermind behind the chessboard? Consider the nature of strategy and control in this board. Are the pieces merely pawns in a larger scheme, or is there a tactician manipulating events from behind the scenes? Most importantly, this poses the question of whether the player is truly in control or immersed as one of the pieces. The answers are concealed within this painting but poses more questions regarding the dynamics of power and control in the larger world beyond.
